Further Studies

A degree in Food Sciences provides direct access to all Master’s degree programs (Laurea Magistrale) at the Department of Agricultural Sciences. With these degrees, you can enroll in the Professional Register of Agronomists. Special mention goes to the Master’s degree in Food Biosafety and Quality, which is an interdepartmental course (Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Sciences) and interclass (LM-70 and LM-7). With the LM-70 class, you can become a Food Technologist; with the LM-7 class, you can become a Biologist and thus pursue a career as a Nutritional Biologist. The Professional Register of Agronomists accepts both classes.

In addition to the courses within the Department of Agricultural Sciences, you can choose other programs at the University of Pisa or other universities. At our university, one prominent option is Human Nutrition Sciences (LM-61) at the Department of Pharmacy. You also have direct access to this course, with the sole exception that admission requires a B2 level language certification. With a degree in the LM-61 class, you can enroll in the Professional Register of Biologists and pursue a career as a Nutritionist.
